This lamp pendant with a whimsical organic shape was handwoven in Ghana by female artisans, part of the social enterprise Kazi Goods. Kazi means employment in Swahili and the cooperative creates local job creation opportunities for women in the area. The locally grown elephant grass is harvested, dried and expertly woven into unique shapes by master weavers.

The lamp is sold without light fixtures or light bulbs.

About the artisans: sister*hood believes in the potential of design & handicrafts to unlock economic opportunities for female artisans around the world. This particular product was handmade by cooperatives connecting almost 5,000 artisans across Rwanda, Uganda and Ghana to increase their earnings.

Product care: Please scrub any marks gently with a fine bristled brush and a little water. The elephant grass is totally fine with water but needs to dry in a place with good airflow. Regular interaction with water/rain will change the shape of the pendant eventually, so only hang outdoors in dry and arid locations.
