THE FLÂNEUR COLLECTIVE
The Crest Club by Rose Ink Workshop
Designed by the visionary team at Rose Ink Workshop and its founder, Liubasha Rose, this members-only retreat is an exquisite study in hospitality and warmth. Described by Rose as possessing a "quiet magic—warm and welcoming, artfully imperfect, and naturally stylish," the club masterfully blends bespoke elements—from a marble-and-steel-framed bar to vintage-inspired mohair and wool furnishings—to create a deeply intimate space.
Designed by Rose Ink Workshop, the members-only Crest Club at the Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection in Telluride, feels like a perfectly curated great room in a friend’s French Alps chalet. “There’s a quiet magic to it—warm and welcoming, artfully imperfect, and naturally stylish,” says founder Liubasha Rose. Hidden from view, the moment you step inside, you know it’s a place you want to be.
The Crest Club features a cozy lounge with private lockers and a bespoke bar framed by marble, wood, and blackened steel fireplaces. Vintage-inspired mohair and wool furnishings, rich textiles, and leather-inset tables evoke a refined alpine retreat.
The jewel box Falcon Room glows with alabaster sconces and amber chandeliers. A scalloped tile bar topped with veined Bianco Ondulato marble anchors the space, wrapped in reclaimed, lime-washed wood with hand-painted leaf carvings. A tonal faux bois carpet adds an artful layer of texture, while curated art—like a painting of Wilson Peak—captures the joy of nature.

Apply NowThe greatest challenge—and triumph—was achieving intimacy within a hotel-scale environment. The Crest Club needed to feel private and exclusive, yet deeply comfortable, like a beloved retreat after a day on the slopes. Balancing that duality required careful calibration of scale, texture, and tone.
Because the project involved working within an existing structure, the design process came with a series of unexpected discoveries and constraints—hidden conditions, structural quirks, and moments that required quick, creative problem-solving. Rather than seeing these as obstacles, the team used them as opportunities to add character and depth. Every adaptation became a way to make the space feel more layered and authentic, ultimately reinforcing the sense that the club had always been there, quietly evolving over time.
A major breakthrough came in layering contrasting materials—like polished marble against lime-washed wood or blackened steel next to hand-carved panels—to evoke the feeling of evolution over time. What might have been a standard club interior became a nuanced study in alpine storytelling.
The team also made an early decision to forgo symmetry in favor of a more organic flow. Each seating nook feels collected rather than planned, allowing guests to discover the space as they move through it. Even the lighting was designed to mimic candlelight—soft, dappled, and cinematic—creating an emotional rhythm that changes from day to night.
Together, these materials create the intimate, layered, and effortlessly chic atmosphere that defines the Crest Club’s identity.
Wood is used extensively, from reclaimed and lime-washed timber to ebonized finishes in paneling, cabinetry, and furniture, instilling a feeling of warmth and craftsmanship. Contrasting this alpine ruggedness is elegant marble, which is featured prominently in fireplaces, mosaic floors, and a striking Bianco Ondulato bar top. Textiles like mohair and wool add softness and tactility, defining the cozy, layered furnishings and rugs. The design is grounded by durable leather inset in tables and benches, providing a tailored, masculine touch. Finally, metal accents, such as blackened steel and locker details, introduce a subtle industrial edge to the overall aesthetic.
Handcrafted Tile: The scalloped glazed bar tile adds artisanal texture, becoming one of the club’s defining gestures.
Since opening, the Crest Club has become a sought-after haven for Auberge guests and Telluride locals alike—a place where luxury feels unforced and human. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with members describing it as “the living room you wish you had.”
