Tips from the Experts
The best advice I ever got about starting a project:
Some of the best advice I received in grad school was to begin with a defining concept for the entire space. It can be based on anything from a passion or interest of your clients to a single mood you want people to feel when entering. This can help bring multiple rooms together to create a cohesive environment and is a great reference point when struggling with picking the next step or making decisions.
How to make a big impact on a small budget?
Paint is an amazingly versatile and cost-effective way to transform a space. I love to get creative with colors to create ambiance and patterns, from simple ones like stripes to a full-on floral print wall.
My dream material or product to work with:
As a former upholsterer and seamstress, I love to work with textiles in any application. From wall textiles, furniture, and drapery to lampshades, it is a wonderful way to add texture, print, or color to a space.
