Deep and strong enough for fireside logs and perfect as a woven toy basket, this woven laundry hamper can also be used for storing rugs, blankets and towels too. Wherever and however you choose to use yours, this large laundry basket will bring sustainable style to any corner of the home.

Meticulously hand woven by a member of a women’s weaving group in rural Kenya, this bright and versatile laundry hamper is made from forty balls of Kenyan sisal grass. The stiff leaves of this indigenous plant undergo a long process of harvesting, rolling and dyeing - all performed by hand - before six days of weaving takes place.

By choosing a woven basket helps The Basket Room continue supporting these talented weavers in becoming less dependent on self-sufficiency farming which can be perilously unpredictable.
