With its earthy, geometric band of charcoal and moshi across its middle, these TUKIO baskets are produced in three different sizes, so there is one for practically every home storage need. The wonderful thing about these woven baskets is that their uses will keep evolving with your needs: a woven desk tidy will become a woven planter, a woven floor basket in the sitting room might make its way to a bedroom or bathroom, playroom or even a utility room over time. 

The female artisans behind these natural woven baskets all learned to weave baskets from their mothers and grandmothers, and practise this traditional Kenyan craft within a small weaving group in rural Kenya. The Basket Room visit this talented group as often as they can, and have built a strong bond with the weavers and their chairlady, Madam Dorcas. Where once these weavers would undertake the long journey to Nairobi to sell their work at markets, The Basket Room now places regular orders with them, enabling these women to work safely from home.
