These bordeaux and pink colour block storage baskets are available in three handy sizes and can be used as flower pots and planters for indoor plants, desk tidies and fruit baskets. Use the basket in the bathroom for toiletries or loo rolls, or place it on your dressing table for keeping jewellery and knick-knacks all in one place.

These coloured baskets are produced by a small Kenyan weaving cooperative of around forty members, with a dedicated dye manager who oversees colour quality and consistency. Sisal grass is sourced ready-rolled when orders come in from The Basket Room, hand-dyed in large vats of boiling water and hung out to dry before the weaving starts.

The Basket Room’s partnership with this Kenyan cooperative helps women to support their families more comfortably, since subsistence farming alone often fails to meet the needs of a family. Purchasing a woven basket supports these weavers’ livelihoods and The Basket Room’s commitment to empowering women. Each woven basket comes with some information from the weaving cooperative.

If your basket gets squashed, you can remould it by spritzing lightly with water and draping over a bowl or pot of a similar shape. Keep your basket dry, they’re all made from natural materials so will deteriorate it they get damp.
