ARE YOU A TRADE PROFESSIONAL?

A perfect gift for a friend, or three! Each of these unique baskets is one-of-a-kind, handwoven in rural Kenya by women's basket weaving co-operatives in the country’s Coastal Region.

These beautiful woven baskets are ideal for use on your nightstand or dressing table, for keeping all your jewellery and trinkets in one place.

The Basket Room works with a Community Based Organisation (CBO) which represents these women’s groups, and all profits made by the CBO through basket sales are used to support these groups.

Subsistence farming is the mainstay of these weavers’ livelihoods, but with crop production dwindling in the dry season – and droughts becoming more frequent and prolonged -  basket weaving has become a vital, income-generating craft for these women.

By bringing home one of colourful baskets you play your own part in empowering women to financially support themselves and their families through the dry seasons.

This is a lucky dip, so expect a colourful surprise!

Material:  SISAL

Dimensions: 9cm DIA x 4cm H APPROX

Please note, as this is a handmade product, dimensions & colour may vary from those shown in the photographs.
