ARE YOU A TRADE PROFESSIONAL?

Of all the forms preserved in the Manufacture's archives, the Virgin and Child is undoubtedly the most unexpected and moving discovery. Rediscovered among the historic moulds during an exploration of the workshops, this piece stands out for its delicate posture and remarkable expression, bearing witness to the work of an artist whose craftsmanship the Manufacture has inherited. Now reissued with the utmost respect for its original form, it reconnects with the intimate and spiritual character of the original object.

Shaped from stoneware and then worked entirely by hand, the statue features exceptionally fine lines. Carefully crafted, its expression is graceful and its silhouette balanced, revealing the full mastery of the craft. Every detail, from the drapery and curves of the faces to the gentleness of the pose, highlights the complexity of the work and the patience required to create it.

Each statue is unique, marked by the lengthy shaping process and the exacting standards of craftsmanship passed down through generations.

A distinctive heritage piece, the Virgin and Child is at once a decorative sculpture, an object through which tradition is passed on, and a living testament to the diversity of forms that have passed through the Manufacture over time. Its reissue pays tribute to a little-known artistic tradition of the workshops and offers a timeless presence that brings depth and understated elegance to an interior.

Made from frost-resistant stoneware fired at very high temperatures, the statue naturally withstands the elements, particularly frost. It can therefore be placed outdoors, in a façade niche, on an entrance ledge, sheltered beneath a porch, or in a secluded corner of the garden, where it creates a presence that is both protective and poetic.

Because of its delicacy and complexity, the Virgin and Child is a demanding piece requiring an exceptionally long production time. It is made entirely to order in the Manufacture's workshops by its most experienced ceramicists. Production lead time: approximately 3 months.
