ARE YOU A TRADE PROFESSIONAL?

Mouth-blown and handmade Bohemian Glassware.
Made in Bohemia.
For keeping jewellery and other precious belongings.
Akua Objects' Michael collection is a collaboration with a bohemian, family-owned company renowned for its prominent glassmaking heritage.
The historical country of central Europe, Bohemia, became famous for its decorative glassware during the Renaissance, and hereafter earned international reputation for its high baroque style.
As an antique dealer, Annika’s father, Michael, introduced her to desired bohemian collector's objects during her childhood. One piece that, today, stands out in her own bookcase, is a bohemian Art Deco glass vase displaying an interpretation of the concept of sisterhood. The Michael collection embraces women as a source of inspiration.
Building upon the foundation of antique moulds, Akua was afforded the creative freedom to transform the outcome from the mould through specialized techniques such as cutting and sand-blowing, while carefully selecting colours that harmonize with the design ethos of Akua Objects. Once the glass has cooled, it passes through the hands of several glass experts. Excess glass is then trimmed away, and intricate details are ground, polished, refined, and accentuated by matting or glossing.
From the beginning, Akua Objects has had a desire to reclaim the iconic, Bohemian vases with vivid imagery enchanted into the glass, creating motifs or fairy tales that are still relevant today.
