Inspired by Slim Aarons’ resort photography and traditional Mexican architecture, Taqiza was designed as a timeless retreat from Bondi’s bustle. Restored hardwood chevron floors anchor the space, complemented by soft lime-washed pink walls reminiscent of Mexico’s historic adobes. Deep green accents, rich textures, and mid-century touches create a refined yet playful aesthetic.
A key element of this balance is the custom Tinker & Tallulah lampshades. Originally seeking vintage, tiki-inspired pendants, sourcing proved difficult—until Tinker & Tallulah stepped in. The boutique brand collaborated with Imogen to craft bespoke hessian lampshades, mirroring mid-century wicker styles. Trimmed in Taqiza’s signature pink and green, they seamlessly integrate into the design, casting a soft, ambient glow that enhances the restaurant’s inviting warmth.
