The Kelim Pouf carries a weaving tradition within it that is at home in Harssin in western Persia, an area where the flatwoven Kelim has been made by hand for generations. Unlike a knotted rug, a Kelim interlocks its threads in the slit-tapestry technique into a firm, double-sided fabric, robust enough to bear weight. Worked from strong sheep's wool, this seating pouf joins the geometric language of the Harssin weavers with a craft that only a few still keep alive today. The Abrash, the lively variation in colour of hand-spun wool, makes every surface evidence of genuine handwork. So an old Kelim technique becomes a place to sit, and a piece of culture you do not just look at but actually use.
