Meet The Designer
With over a decade of experience in the Interior Design sector, Michaela Reysenn brings a thoughtful blend of artistry and real-world expertise to KAI Interiors. Her early experience working in high-level hospitality gave her a deep understanding of how spaces need to function behind the scenes—a perspective that’s shaped the studio’s reputation for creating interiors that are as practical as they are beautiful. Over the past decade, Michaela has led KAI Interiors to design spaces that inspire connection and feel effortlessly inviting. Her personal style is a rich mix of vintage influences, mid-century charm, and bold textures, reflecting her love for storytelling and attention to detail. Under her leadership, KAI Interiors has become a creative force, crafting designs that combine individuality, functionality, and timeless appeal.

Design & Projects
From beautiful bars with moody lighting and textured finishes to buzzing restaurants that blend rustic charm with modern vibes, KAI Interiors knows how to set the mood. They’ve even mastered the art of crafting chic members' clubs, where curved sofas, soft tones, and luxe fabrics create the perfect hangout spot.
With an eye for detail and a love for cultural influences, KAI Interiors has teamed up with some of the best in the field —think Harvey Nichols, Hyatt Hotels, Battersea Power Station, Chase Distillery, and The Hoxton. New York, Chefchaouen, Casablanca, or Muscat, wherever they go, they bring a unique mix of creativity, functionality, and comfort that keeps people coming back for more.

Tips from the Experts
The one thing I always tell my clients:
You get what you pay for! If we pay less, it’s likely we will need to pay twice. As much as this is frustrating when the budget is tight, we always want to ensure that the interior has longevity and is therefore more sustainable. We try to get a good balance between cost and quality.
How to make a big impact on a small budget:
We often get told our projects look more expensive than they are. We tend to focus on touch points and carefully consider where it is worthwhile spending the client's budget. With our F&B experience in operations, we always focus on the durability of our interior finishes. We want something that not only looks aesthetically pleasing but will stand the test of time. We also love to integrate storytelling into the space. Using bespoke wallpapers and fabrics that are hand-drawn or designed for the client is a great way for us to make a big impact. Agencies such as Lyons and Tigers are really good for this.
My dream material or product to work with:
We’re just loving all of the sustainable materials that are being developed at the moment; it’s been interesting to see the increase in environmental awareness and consumer demand for eco-friendly practices. We have been using Foresso consistently and have found it to be extremely hard-wearing over the longer term and beautiful to look at. Also, we have been working in collaboration with KAVA who produce a great sustainable sheet material made from powdered fruit stones, juniper berries and coffee grounds.
