House of Mouse Studio
Founded by husband‑and‑wife duo Kirsty and Sandy Batchelor, we create homes that feel warm, elegant and beautifully lived‑in; interiors built on narrative, materiality and a quiet sense of luxury. We design layered, characterful interiors that bring together colour, pattern and a curated mix of old and new. Our aesthetic is rooted in a modern interpretation of heritage style - warm, inviting rooms with depth, texture and a sense of ease. Each project feels individual, shaped by the client’s brief and the character of the home.

Design & Projects
Our approach is collaborative, considered and deeply personal. Every project begins with listening - understanding how you live, what you love and the story your home should tell. From there, we shape a design that balances individuality with our aesthetic; layered, elegant and quietly luxurious.
We believe in clarity and confidence at every stage. From concept to completion, we manage the process with precision and care, ensuring decisions feel informed and effortless.
We work with trusted craftspeople and suppliers to deliver interiors of exceptional quality - creating spaces that feel warm, characterful and tailored to you.

Meet The Designer
At House of Mouse Studio, Kirsty leads the design direction drawing on extensive experience across residential, retail and hospitality interiors. Her approach is defined by confident pattern‑play, textural richness and a sensitivity to a building’s architecture. She responds to the existing fabric of a space, respecting its history and designing in a way that feels naturally connected to the building.
Sandy brings organisation and clarity to each project, ensuring the process runs smoothly and clients feel supported throughout. With a background in acting and production, he offers clear communication, thoughtful coordination and a steady guiding presence from concept to completion.
Having honed our craft in London, we are now based in Scotland and work across the UK and internationally.
Always allow for a contingency of at least 20%, as unforeseen costs and challenges are almost inevitable in any project - whether a new build or a period property.

Tips from the Experts
My dream material or product to work with
We’d love to incorporate more contemporary art from M.A.H Gallery — Laura has an incredible eye for curating artists and collections that we’re instinctively drawn to. In terms of materials and texture, we’re particularly inspired by moiré at the moment, along with the beautifully crafted fabrics from C.C. Moulton. An accent chair finished with silk fringing would feel wonderfully indulgent and full of character.
My favourite hack as an interior designer
Using IKEA PAX wardrobe carcasses with bespoke door fronts is one of our ways to achieve a tailored look without compromising on practicality. The PAX system offers a wide range of internal fittings, from shelving and drawers to accessories - at an accessible price point. This allows more of the budget to be invested in beautifully crafted doors and elevated ironmongery.
The one thing I always tell my clients
Always allow for a contingency of at least 20%, as unforeseen costs and challenges are almost inevitable in any project - whether a new build or a period property. We’d also avoid beginning a project with a fixed deadline in mind, particularly Christmas, as timelines nearly always shift. Allowing adequate time for the installation and styling phase is just as important as the build itself.
Trend I love and one I avoid
Generally, we try to avoid following trends and instead focus on responding intuitively to the client and the space itself. We’re more interested in exploring materials in unexpected ways or finding thoughtful ways to incorporate a client’s existing pieces into a scheme. Texture and layering are always central to our approach, which is why we love introducing details such as wallpapered ceilings or upholstered doors to add depth and character.
