There were so many you could bag them up without worrying you were taking food away from the animals. Over the winter they used the acorns to dye up the charcoal sections of this patchwork quilt - it’s slow work as it takes lots of layering with the dye. It sits alongside a cream linen dyed with chestnut, with dashes of turquoise made with weld from their garden over dyed with indigo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePatchworked into a spiral that makes your eyes dance a little, stretching out into a double sized quilt.
