Limited Edition Etching by Bobby Dowler

We present a small curated selection of etchings produced by Villa Lena Foundation in the past few years.
Four emerging British artists, past residents at Villa Lena, present visual studies on the classical subject of Figure and Landscape. Bobby Dowler’s practice in general is very different to print making – he creates “painting – objects”, predominantly structured around found materials. His practice often incorporates drawing, and for this etching he adopted a free association technique, scratching the surface of the copper plate in a drawing like way. Informed by his impressions of the Villa Lena environment, Bobby’s etching presents an artist’s landscape of mind.
