Limited Edition Etching by Adeline De Monseignat

Adeline works with mixed media, sculptures, installations, drawing and video, exploring the theme of Uncanny. Her works are fetishistic and surreal in nature, quite often paying homage to René Magritte’s subversion of the natural, Sigmund Freud’s The Uncanny and Louise Bourgeois’ work, all of which is re-interpreted through the lens of her personal experiences. Writing on her etching Moonkissed, Adeline describes: “Gently sunk in their mattress and wrapped in their bed sheets, my “creatures” seem gently kissed by the peeking moonlight, while a grainy greyness invades the darker corners of their “incubedroom”. This is a window into their quiet intimacy.” Her drawings are a starting point for an installation, and she mentions that Moonkissed one day will become 3D.
