Where does the furniture from l’Hotel Grand Amour come from?
The furniture of L’Hotel Grand Amour, acquired over years of browsing in antique shops, sales rooms, or at the Puces, is the work of the great decorators from the 1930s to the 1950s. The stools are by Pierre Charreau, the plaster sconces by Jean-Charles Moreux, old mirrors, bronze pedestal tables, lamps and other objects of “Style 40” signed by Jacques Adnet or André Arbus. There are also rare books, novels first editions, and an autograph by André Breton.
Where do they find their vintage inspirations?
The majority of rooms, house bathrooms whose ceramic tiles from Italy take the motives of Jean-Michel Frank or those of the bathrooms from the apartment of Nissim Camondo. “Everything you see here is a piece of history from the furniture pieces to the decorative elements. We love to collect. We spend a lot of time in antique shops, auction houses and flea markets looking for outstanding pieces and artworks, mostly original designs from the 1930s onwards.” Explains André Saraiva.
