Digital wellness – online classes and experiences to increase your inner zen

As big champions of hospitality businesses and hotels, we love that some of our favourite hotels and destinations are turning their attention to digital wellness in lieu of guest stays. Not only does it give you a chance to support the communities who have been hardest hit by lockdown restrictions, it’s also a great way to learn new skills, increase your inner calm, and stay grounded and feeling good while working from – and staying at – home. Here’s some of our favourite digital wellness experiences being offered by hotels and resorts around the world – everything from at-home facials to yoga flows – to help you keep calm and carry on.

Online fitness classes

Fitler Club in Philadelphia has always brought together the best bits of hospitality and lifestyle – from its stylish boutique hotel, to its membership club including fitness classes and its design-led coworking spaces. While their doors may be temporarily shut to guests, their wellness classes are now online without the need for membership, and cover everything from fitness workouts to laidback wine tasting sessions.

Online yoga and meditation classes

Amanyara, a wellness focused luxury resort in Turks & Caicos, has made helping you stay zen at home its new mission, with a wellness video series including breathing techniques, yoga flows and even mocktail recipes. While Gurney’s Resorts – the outdoorsy, sustainable chain with resorts across America – has turned to Instagram to deliver their usual roster of educational lifestyle tips, sharing weekly online lessons as part of their #GoneHome series that cover everything from wellness tips to meditation guides and nourishing recipes.

At-home spa days

We’re big fans of Irene Forte’s Sicilian-influenced, natural skincare line, having stocked it on Maison Flaneur for a while. Her beauty knowledge is second to none, just like the spa experiences she’s helped to curate at Rocco Forte Hotels wellness spas. And now, thanks to her at-home facial guide, you can recreate the same luxury experience without having to leave your sofa. Self-care is vital at times of increased stress, and with Irene Forte’s guide to the perfect at-home facial – including the tools you need and the best products to use – you can show your mind, skin and soul some love using tips from the best in the business.

Online knitting classes

The Asbury Hotel in Jersey Shore is known for its colourful interior decor and knitting classes – a way to meet new people in the city while learning a calming new skill. In lieu of its face-to-face ‘Knit In The Pit’ classes, anyone wanting to broaden their crafting repertoire and take up a practical, chilled out hobbie can tune in to their weekly knitting classes live on Zoom every Friday.

And for the Foodies

Most of your favourite restaurants have shared their secrets online. We have loved the Big Mamma Groups’, very Italian (Daiiiiie!) cooking videos, Le Pigalle’s chicest French mixology class and for dinner follow on of Coal Office delicious recipe. Far from the eyes, close to the heart.
